Suggested Itinerary

This is the itinerary we followed on our 1998 walk along the track. Each night was spent at a hut except as noted. We would suggest an extra day from Collie to Noggerup and a few rest days at towns (we suggest 4) to be added to this schedule.

1 Kalamunda to Hewitts Hill, 10km, mid-day start, a half day
2 To Waalegh, 18km (possible to do this section over 2 days)
3 To Mt Dale, 21km (possible to do this section over 2 days)
4 To Canning, 19km (possible to do this section over 2 days)
5 To Monadnocks, 28km (possible to do this section over 2 days)
6 To Mt Cooke over Mt Cuthbert and Mt Vincent, 13km
7 To Nerang over Mt Cooke, 13km
8 To Gringer Creek, 17km, + sidetrip of 2km to North Bannister roadhouse
9 To White Horse, 18km
10 To Chadoora over Mt Wells, 30km (can do this section over 2 days)
11 To Dwellingup, 20km, buy food or collect parcels at Post Office
12 To Swamp Oak, 13km
13 To Murray, 19km
14 To Dookanelly, 18km
15 To Possum Springs, 20km
16 To Yourdamung, 20km (great flowers - fuel stove only campsite)
17 To Harris Dam, 15km (a mornings walk by this stage)
18 To Collie, 22km, buy food or collect parcels at Post Office
19 To Yabberup, walked on to camp at Glen Mervyn Dam, 28km
20 To Noggerup then Grimwade, 33km, this was a long day, suggest 3 days from Collie to Noggerup is preferable as per the guide.
21 To Balingup, 22km, can't buy food, can collect parcels at Post Office
22 To Blackwood, 18km (great site on ridge top - fuel stove only campsite)
23 To Gregory Brook, 18km
24 To Donnelley River Village, 21km, take away food store
25 To Tom Road, 16km
26 To Boarding House, 23km
27 To Beavis, 19km
28 To Beedelup, 20km
29 To Pemberton, 24km, buy food or collect parcels at Post Office
30 To Warren, 22km
31 To Schafer, 21km
32 To Northcliffe, 14km, buy food or collect parcels at Post Office
33 To Gardner, 15km
34 To Maringup, 16km
35 To Dog Pool, 25km (long wades - track has since been re-sited to avoid swamp)
36 To Mt Chance, 20km (from here to Albany - fuel stove only area)
37 To Woolbales, 20km
38 To Long Point, 17km
39 To Walpole over Mt Clare, 22km, buy food or collect at Post Office
40 To Frankland, 18km, giant tingle trees tourist walk on the way
41 To Giants, 14km, visit Treetop Walk on the way
42 To Rame Head, 16km, easy, (could combine with next day)
43 To Peaceful Bay, 11km, an easy mornings walk
44 To Boat Harbour, 23km, a solid day along sand dunes & ridges
45 To William Bay, 20km
46 To Wilson Inlet Holiday Park (Denmark), 15km
47 To Nullaki, 16km, we used boat, next time we would cross inlet entrance
48 To West Cape Howe, 17km
49 To Torbay, 16km
50 To Hidden Bay, 18km
51 To Albany, 19km

NOTE - we found after the first week, we were able to walk most sections under 20 km by lunchtime.
